How do I care for the neckline of my Bébé au Lait Nursing Cover?

In most cases, the neckline requires no special/additional care. Occasionally, due to the material used for the rigid neckline, it can get bent out of shape after washing. An easy fix for this is to gently iron and then massage/form the neckline back into shape.

Is your cover one-size-fits-all?

Bébé au Lait covers are designed to be loose enough to allow air to circulate but large enough to keep moms from being exposed. Depending on the size of your child and whether you are nursing while seated or standing, baby's legs may not be completely covered. However, mom's torso and tummy will be covered from the front and sides. We recommend trying your nursing cover on before breastfeeding.

The pattern used on my product seems to differ from the swatch displayed on your website. Why is that?

Bébé au Lait swatches are a representative part of the overall finished product. Some small variation in print details and dye lots may occur. We try our very best to describe our products in pattern and colour, however they are a personal opinion and therefore open to interpretation. We also cannot control individual device screen settings.

Where can I get more information about Bébé au Lait intellectual property including patents and trademarks?

Bébé au Lait has several patents and trademarks on our products. To learn more about this, please visit http://www.bebeaulait.com/ip

Why are Chewbeads safe for babies?

Chewbeads are sent to an independent US material testing lab to ensure that they meet or exceed all current standards of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. The tests prove that both the materials and the design of the product are completely safe for your baby while under adult supervision. Chewbeads are intended to be worn as adult jewelry and should not be left with children or babies alone. Adult supervision is required.

Are Juniorbeads suitable for children with sensory needs?

Juniorbeads are made with the same non-toxic material as Chewbeads. As always there is no BPA, no phthalates, no lead, or cadmium and therefore are safe for anyone to put in their mouths. With that being said, Juniorbeads can be used to soothe children with sensory needs. However, due to the spectrum of needs, we cannot confirm that Juniorbeads are suitable for all children with sensory needs. Please use under adult supervision and use your discretion with your child. Please remember clasps are not chewable and if chewed will cause necklaces to lose functionality. In addition, aggressive chewing can cause beads to rip or tear- please inspect before each use and discard if damaged.

What are the benefits of using silicone?

A primary reason is reliability. Silicone rubber components have a useful life that is far superior under conditions that would cause the deterioration of many parts made of typical organic materials. Silicone rubber retains a far higher tensile strength, and tear resistance than do many organic rubbers, perfect for emerging teeth! It is odorless and tasteless. It is very stable it does not cause staining. Most importantly, silicone rubber will not support the growth of fungus, mold or bacteria! To clean simply wash with a mild soap and water.

Where are Chewbeads manufactured?

Chewbeads are currently designed in NYC and made in China.

Can I use my carrier if I am pregnant?

Many women have safely used the Ergobaby carrier throughout their pregnancy. However, this is very much an individual preference and we recommend you consult your health care practitioner if you choose to continue to carry your child beyond your fifth month of pregnancy.

I think my baby’s legs are uncomfortable when in the carrier. What should I do?

Be sure that s/he is old enough (4-6 months) and comfortable to spread their legs around you comfortably. They may be in that transition period from the infant insert... if baby has great head control, but still can't spread their legs around you, you may take the pillow out and seat the baby just on the pillow (without the "taco" part). Also, make sure that baby has a good deep seat in the carrier and that the weight is not resting on their legs, but rather their bum.

My carrier is damaged (rip, broken buckle etc.), who can I contact for a replacement or refund?

If your carrier experiences any damage, please do not use your carrier in its current condition because it cannot be used properly. Please contact [email protected] and we will assist you in replacing your carrier and/or carrier parts.

Are teething pads machine washable?

Yes, all of our Ergobaby teething pads and bibs are machine washable.

Why do I need the Infant Insert and how long do I need to use it?

Our Infant Inserts are designed so that you can safely carry your newborn baby from day one if they are 7lbs or more, and until age 4-6 months. It is designed to provide ultimate comfort and support for baby, by providing head, neck and spine support and ensuring baby is correctly seated while in the Ergobaby Carrier. Once your baby can hold her/his head up for long periods of time and is comfortable with her/his hips in a splayed position, the use of the Infant Insert is no longer necessary. The Infant Insert is designed to grow with your baby. The top rounded edge of the back and neck panel can be folded outward and down to provide more neck support for smaller, younger infants. The removable pillow at the base of the Infant Insert provides extra height, support and cushion for baby and enables a natural seated position. For babies with strong head and neck control who could use a boost in the carrier, the pillow can be removed from the Infant Insert and placed directly in the carrier for baby to sit on. This is for small babies who have strong and consistent head and neck control (typically 4-6 age range) but are either too short to bend at the knees when seated in the Carrier or would like to be seated higher in the Carrier. Use the back support cushion without the pillow for larger or taller babies who still need head and neck support. Infant Inserts are sold separately or within the Bundle of Joy. All Ergobaby Infant Inserts can be used with any Ergobaby Carrier. NOTE: Babies grow and develop at different rates, so their transition to pillow only in carrier or without infant insert in carrier typically takes place between 4 and 6 months. Since babies grow and develop at different rates, monitor your newborn's development to decide when she/he is ready for the transition.

If my baby is over the maximum weight limit recommended for use but does not have consistent neck control, do I still need to use the Infant Insert?

The references to ages and weights are only general guidelines and each baby's development is different. The Infant Insert should be used until your baby displays strong head and neck control and can be seated comfortably in an ergonomic, frog leg position within the carrier.

Are the Baby Carriers and Infant Inserts machine washable?

Yes, all of our Carriers and Infant Inserts (plus insert pillow) are machine washable.

What are the key benefits of the Ergobaby Swaddler?

Ergonomic Design – patented design features a Healthy Hip Positioner that helps keep baby's legs and hips in an ergonomic position to allow for healthy hip development, and positions arms in natural “hands to heart” position.

Escape Proof – Specially designed arm pockets and leg positioner keeps the Swaddler from coming undone or shifting during sleep.

Extra Convenience – Features a unique "removable leg pouch" for quick and easy diaper changes and also allows for use with harness systems commonly found in swings and bouncers.

Additional Comfort – Breathable 100% cotton is soft on baby's skin and works great year round. Our premium, cotton knit material stretches with baby’s movements for additional comfort.

Easy-to-use – Ensures that baby is snug and comfortable in just a few simple steps.

Machine Washable

When should I stop using the Ergobaby Swaddler?

Immediately discontinue the use of the Ergobaby Swaddler once your baby can roll over.

What is the weight limit of the Ergobaby Carrier?

Ergobaby recommends a weight limit of 45 pounds for its Original, Organic, and Performance carriers. The Four Position 360 carrier has a recommended weight limit of 33 pounds.

At what age can I carry my baby in the back carry position?

Each parent and child is different but usually around 6 months your baby will be ready to be carried on the back and parents are comfortable not having their baby in direct line of sight. Baby must have strong head and neck control and be comfortably seated consistently in the carrier in an ergonomic, frog-leg position with knees even to hips. People with larger babies who are more developed may choose to put their baby in the back carry position even earlier than 6 months especially for longer carry times since many parents find it more comfortable to wear heavy babies on their backs.

What is the difference between the Ergobaby Performance Carrier and the Performance Ventus Carrier?

Fabric: Both carriers back panels are made from lightweight breathable mesh to keep baby cool. The Ergobaby Performance Ventus back panel is made from 3D Air mesh with no lining to allow maximum airflow, while the Performance Carrier back panel is made from Air mesh with a jersey knit lining for more comfort. Pocket: The Ergobaby Performance Ventus has only a small pocket for the hood to allow more ventilated surface, while the Performance Carrier has a large zippered storage pocket to conveniently carry your baby essentials on the go.

What is the difference between the Ergobaby Original Carrier and the Organic Cotton Fabric Carrier?

The only difference is in the fabric. Gentle for baby’s sensitive skin, our Organic Cotton Fabric carriers are made from 100% Organic Cotton Oeko-Tex Standard 100 Certified fabrics in a responsible, environmental manner with you and the planet in mind.

Can I put my baby forward facing in my Original Carrier?

Our Original, Organic and Performance carriers are designed to be ergonomic for you as well as the baby. Therefore, the baby must always be facing the parent to have the proper support from the body of the carrier. So, you should not wear the baby in the front outward position in them. Only the Four Position 360 carrier is designed to carry the baby in this rot outward position.

How do I know if my baby is ready for the front-outward facing position?

Once your baby can see above the front panel of the carrier, has strong head & neck control, and has a natural curiosity to see and interact with the world, they are ready for front-outward carry. We recommend starting with short durations (5-10 minutes) to prevent over-stimulation. If baby shows signs of over-stimulation (zoned out, catatonic, fussy, tired) or sleepiness, just turn them back around to Front-Inward so they can find comfort in their wearer and rest.

Are the wet bags waterproof?

Along with sewing the sides of the bag, we add a heat seal to further make the bag water resistant – you can fill the wet bag with water and nothing will leak out through the sides or bottom. Due to the product having a zipper top closure, we cannot call the bag completely waterproof although it does an excellent job of containing liquids and odours.

The snack bags are not insulated. Think of them as a day pack or a replacement for a plastic baggie. We do not recommend keeping food in the snack bags for extended periods of time as they are not air tight.

Itzy Ritzy products are not flame retardant. There are no added chemicals or chemical treatments used on any Itzy Ritzy product.

The lining is a polyester fabric with a thin polyurethane laminate (PUL), which has been tested per FDA guidelines to ensure food contact safety and to ensure that it is compliant with CPSIA testing.  Unlike many “snack bags”, Itzy Ritzy has put R&D money into fully testing the lining to ensure that it’s food safe.

Kickee Pants does not treat any of their garments with flame retardant chemicals. All of their sleepwear complies with the “snug fitting” guidelines for products not treated with flame retardant.

Why do some of your fabrics have a different feel?

Our fabric is so soft that there is no way to make our prints equally as soft (although we try!!). If you are looking for the softest possible clothing for your little one, keep an eye out for out stripes and solids - there is no printing at all on these pieces. After that, the rule of thumb is that the less printing there is, the softer the fabric will feel. That said, most of our prints remain incredibly soft, and if for any reason you are unhappy with your purchase please contact us through the Contact Us tab or at [email protected]

What is the best way to wash and dry Kickee Pants?

We recommend to machine wash with cold water and tumble dry on low or delicate cycle. Our fabric is quite delicate and should not be washed or dried with items with zippers or Velcro. We also recommend washing the garment inside out to preserve the print or prevent pilling. Many KicKee lovers use Woolite, Dreft or Free & Clear to wash and use hang/flat drying techniques.

Do all styles fit the same?

While Kickee Pants garments fit true to size, some styles are intended to have a more fitted look while others are roomier and therefore may fit your child differently.  If you have questions about a specific garment, please contact us!

We do not recommend that you wash your bag. We take a lot of pride and care in our selection and development of what we feel to be some of the most beautiful fabrics available today. Many of these fabrics are made out of more delicate fibers such as silk / rayon blend or high end Italian tapestries which require extra TLC. Washing your bag will result in an unfavorable variation of the surface of the fabric, lessening the beauty and the shine of it. Washing will also cause the interfacing (stabilizing structure of the bag) to break down resulting in a lessening of the stiffness of the structure of the bag.

Why are baby or toddle shoes with flexible soles better for my child?

While podiatrists now agree that barefoot is Most Unexceptional for proper foot and muscular development, it is not always practical. Flexible, lightweight soles are recommended because they are protective for indoor and outdoor wear, yet not restrictive. Because smaller kids do not weigh very much and are lightweight, they require a very flexible, lightweight shoe.  The soles of Smaller Crib shoes are made from soft suede, with non-slip rubber pads for traction. Our Smaller Steps and See Kai Run shoes incorporate a very flexible, yet durable rubber for the soles of our first walkers. Both allow plenty of freedom for developing little feet.

Are See Kai Run shoes made from genuine leather?

Yes! All three age ranges – Babies, Toddlers and Big Kids – feature uppers made from buttery-soft leather with breathable leather lining. Only quality materials are used to ensure the soft, flexible, comfortable shoes that are ideal for your child’s feet.

Is the leather used in See Kai Run shoes safe for my child?

Yes! See Kai Run cares about the safety of your child and takes great care in ensuring that the leather used for our shoes meets the most stringent US and international guidelines available.

What sizes are available?

For babies (newborn-infant), our Smaller Crib soft-soled crib shoes come in sizes 0-6 months, 6-9 months, 9-12 months and 12-18 months. Our Smaller Steps shoes come in sizes 3 through 6 and are appropriate for babies (older infants) taking their very first steps (18-24 months).  Our See Kai Run toddler shoes for kids up to three years old come in sizes 4-9. Our Kai big kid shoes are available in whole and half sizes 8 through 3y and fit kids approximately ages 3 through 8 years old.

Are See Kai Run shoes appropriate for indoor and outdoor wear?

Where, on the mamaRoo® infant seat, are the manufacture date code and serial number located?

The manufacture date code is embossed in the plastic on the bottom of the seat’s base. The serial number is located on a white sticker, also on the bottom of the base, near the manufacture date code.

No. Since it is neither a flat surface (there is always a slight recline) or a firm surface, as recommended by pediatricians, we cannot recommend that it be used for overnight sleep.

There is no age or size limit for its’ use, so it can be used from birth until the baby no longer prefers it.

I can’t get the toy bar in completely, how do I fix this?

What are the dimensions of the infant tub?

The approximate dimensions for the length of the tub are 32” long (end to end) and the part that fits into the sink itself is only 19” long from end to end with an area to account for a double sink. The tub is 16” wide in the middle but tapers at the end so that it will be slightly less than 16” at certain points.

What is the liquid capacity of the infant tub?

The capacity of the basin where the baby sits is 1.5 gallons. If the drain plug below the oval overflow drain is open, the capacity lessens to .5 gallons.

Can I use the infant tub in the bathtub instead of the sink?

No, we do not recommend this. The infant tub is designed for use in a sink so that the water can pass over the reservoir in the front of the tub. If you move the infant tub to your bathtub, the water will not fall as gently into the reservoir and this may result in water getting behind the screen.
